NATCHEZ — Woodrow Dauras Buckles Jr., 83, of Natchez, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at Adams County Nursing Center.

A private family service will be under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Buckles was born Feb. 27, 1934, in Natchez, the son of Woodrow D. Buckles Sr. and Corrine Whitehead Buckles.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Natchez.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; two brothers; and one son-in-law, Mark Porter.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Rose Buckles; two daughters, Melodie Moore and husband, Tim, and Mary Ellen Porter, all of Natchez; one son, Stephen Buckles and wife, Nina, of Bismarck, Ark.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Natchez.
