NATCHEZ — The regular meeting of the Natchez Board of Aldermen will start earlier than usual today in order to allow three aldermen time to travel to a national conference.
Today’s meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the City Council chambers, one and half hours earlier than normal.
The agenda for a finance session, normally scheduled for 9:30 a.m., will be combined with the regular board to allow aldermen Billie Joe Frazier, Joyce Arceneaux-Mathis and Felicia Iriving time to catch a flight to Charlotte, N.C., where they will attend the National League of Cities City Summit. The four-day conference begins Wednesday.
On the agenda of today’s meeting, aldermen are expected to receive bids for the lease of the old pro shop at Duncan Park and discuss among other subjects, recreation, the TIGER grant agreement and the jail inmate housing agreements with the county.
