TYLERTOWN — Services for Larry Dwayne McKenzie, 87, who died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Capps Funeral Home Chapel in Tylertown with the Rev. Robert N. Armstrong officiating.
Burial will follow at the Boyd Cemetery in the Salem community under the direction of Hartman-Hughes Capps Funeral Home in Tylertown.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, both at the funeral home.
Mr. McKenzie was born Jan. 28, 1930, in Walthall County, the son of Floyd Thomas and Mary Frances Brumfield McKenzie.
He was Baptist but attended Church Hill United Methodist Church in Natchez. Mr. McKenzie served in the U.S. Army and was formerly employed by Lyle Cashion Company as an oilfield pumper. He enjoyed being outside, gardening, working with flowers, hunting, fishing and reading.
Mr. McKenzie loved his family and loved being with them. He will be deeply missed by them all.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronald Dwayne McKenzie; two sisters, Winnie Mae McKenzie and Audrey Lewis; and one brother, Darwin McKenzie.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Sara Holmes McKenzie; one daughter, Elizabeth Lott and husband, Kenneth; one grandson, McKenzie Lott and wife, Tiffany; one granddaughter, Kelly Lott Sacco and husband, Don; five sisters, Sylvia Bellau, Donis Brenteson, Carolyn Bergeron, Lucy Saia and Hilda Salers; and one brother, Nelson McKenzie.
Pallbearers will be Steve Robertson, David Pyron, Eddie Stebbins, Bill Burnsed, Steve McKenzie and Bradley McKenzie.
