VIDALIA  —  Funeral services for Katherine “Katie” Beatrice Warner, 27, of New Orleans, who died on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at her residence in New Orleans, will be 1 p.m. today at Starlight Baptist Church, 901 Martin Luther King St., Vidalia.

Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from noon until time of the service today at the church.

Katie was born at 8:04 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 1990, in New Orleans, the third child of Edward and Mary Warner.

Katie was a lifelong resident of “Algiers.” Katie attended Alice Harte Elementary, Murray Henderson Middle School and graduated on May 22, 2012, from O. Perry Walker High School. Katie loved a good hearty laugh and hanging out with her family, particularly her siblings. Katie was anointed and baptized at an early age.

Katie was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Willie Franklin Jr.; paternal grandparents, Willie Warner and Belphania Long; four aunts, Zenobia Hawkins, Bessie Mae Williams, Melissa Williams and Thelma Williams; two uncles, Oliver Charles Blackwell and Simon Warner; and paternal great-grandparents, Solomon and Pinkey Washington.

Katie is survived by her parents; maternal grandmother Audrey S. Franklin; four siblings, Leola Rachel Ellis, of Vidalia, LaTisha W. Bolton and husband, Darryle, of Houston, and Maurice Ishmael Warner and Timothy James Smith, both of Jonesboro, Ga.; four nephews, Tyler Polk, Jathan Kennedy, Daniel Bolton and Nicholas Ellis; 10 aunts, Mable Williams, Patsy Ann Smith, Barbara Smith and husband, Lionell, Lillian Maria Franklin, Pinkey Beavers and husband, Freddie, Joshuan Brown, Shirley Warner, Ida Thomas, Violetta Whitley, and Gwendolyn Robinson and husband, Jackie; seven uncles, Linden Franklin and wife, Lawendllyn, Willie Franklin III and wife, Marcha, Willie Daniel Warner and wife, Connie, Kenneth Warner, Gregory Warner and wife, Helen, Samuel Warner and wife, Cheryl, and Michael Warner and wife, Sheila; special aunts, Gwendolyn Marie Warner and Sherrie Billups-Jones; caretakers, Mrs. Lisa Henry, Patsy Ann Smith, Gia Johnson, Ellen Carter and Ruth Madison; great aunts, Johnnie Mae Lyons, Alberta Bruster, Sammie Rose Warner, Rosie Lee Warner, Rosie Lee Hooper; and other great aunts, great-great aunts, cousins, friends and family members.
