WOODVILLE — Services for Tom George Flowers, 90, of Woodville, who died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at his residence in the Buffalo community near Woodville, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Corinth Church of Christ with the Rev. John Bryant and the Rev. Joe Ratcliff officiating.

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral Home in Centreville.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mr. Flowers was born Nov. 14, 1927, in Woodville, the son of John E. Flowers and Vera Leake Flowers. He was a retired carpenter.

Mr. Flowers also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a deacon at Foster Road Baptist Church for more than 25 years and in recent years, he was a member of Corinth Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening, beekeeping, woodworking and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Jenna Lewis; three brothers; and six sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Shirley Smith Flowers; three daughters, Pamela C. Noble of Walker, La., Mollie E. Soniat of Natchez and Lorette Champagne of Watson, La.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mark Cavin, Don Bryant, Gary Soniat, Randy Soniat, Trey Harrison and Peyton Lewis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Harrison, Ricky Cruz, Jack Flowers, W.H. McCarty, Shelby Carlisle, John Robert Henderson and John L. Cavin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BACK Bennett’s Acts of Christian Kindness and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
