FERRIDAY — Services for Roy Rogers Jackson, 73, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, in New Orleans, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Danny Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow at Doty Road Church of God Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, both at the church.

Mr. Jackson was born March 3, 1944, in Eva, La., the son of Albert and Virgie Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Vertina Armstrong.

Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Miles and husband, Cornelius, of Ferriday; one son, Ronald Quinn; four grandchildren, Cornelius Jefferson Sr., Tiosha Miles, Keiwaun Miles and Antiono Quinn; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Roosevelt Jackson and wife, Johnette, of New Orleans, David Jackson Sr. and Paris Jackson, both of Ferriday; one sister, Addie Allen of Detroit; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
