NATCHEZ — Services for Myra Jane Cotten, 68, of Natchez, who died Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Natchez with the Rev. Dr. Doug Broome officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday, both at the church.

Mrs. Cotten was born Oct. 9, 1949, in Lincoln County, the daughter of Hubie Nettles and Lulleen Theresa Lofton Nettles.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She will be missed by many.

Mrs. Cotten was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Shane Seyfarth; one brother, Lamar Nettles; three sisters, Opal Nettles, Lyvonne Hudson and Dixie Johnston; and mother-in-law, Willie Vee Cotten.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Thomas L. Cotten; two daughters, Dana McGivaren and husband, Chris, of Prarieville, La., and Janeé Guice and husband, Wes, of Natchez; one son, Tee Cotten and wife, Angela, of Natchez; eight grandchildren, Peyton McGivaren, Rachel Melancon, Kristyn Arnold, Jordan Arnold, Landon Seyfarth, Caroline Cotten, Macie Seyfarth and Tripp Cotten; and a number of special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chris McGivaren, Peyton McGivaren, Wes Guice, Jordan Arnold, Thomas Cotten Jr., Thomas Cotten III, Landon Seyfarth and Will Bryant.
