WOODVILLE — Services for John Edward “Eddie” Davis, 66, of Roxie, a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his devoted family, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Newman Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville.

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery Annex in Woodville under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Davis was born Sept. 28, 1951, in Woodville, the son of John Henry and Mary Adelaine Geter Davis.

Along with being a devoted husband who stayed by his wife’s side until her death, he loved his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and carried on his wife’s legacy of taking care of her cats and dogs.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life for 46 years, Yvonne Thomas Davis; his parents; one nephew, Chad Floyd; one niece, Heather Floyd Meng; father and mother-in-law, George and Margie McCallister Thomas; and brothers and sisters-in-law, David Lee and Fay Thomas, George “Red” and Marie Thomas and Margie Lynn Thomas Biggs.

Survivors include three children, Denise Braud and husband, Aaron, Brandy Miles and Devin Davis and wife, Amanda; six grandchildren, Ashley, Sierra, Erica and Brandon Braud, Zachary Miles and Landon Davis; four sisters, Barbara Wheeler and husband, Roddy, Shirley Latham and husband, Paul, Patricia Jones and husband, Grady, and Renee Floyd and husband, Allen; one brother, Rodney Davis and wife, JoAnn; and a number of nieces and nephews.
