MONTEREY — Services for A.J. Smith, 83, of Acme, La., who died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, at his residence, will be 2 p.m. today at Monterey Church of Christ with the Rev. Jason Sparks and the Rev. Clyde Grammon officiating.
Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the church.
Mr. Smith was born Feb. 6, 1935, in Jonesville, the son of O.J. and Bessie Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Gail White and Betty Moreland; and one brother, Carl Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn B. Smith; two sons, Randy Smith of Monterey and Brandon Smith and wife, Kelly, of Bossier City, La.; three brothers, Harvey Smith, Lavon Smith and Louis Smith, all of Jonesville; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Smith, Alex Smith, Hunter Smith, Jonathon Smith, Theo Burley Jr. and Steve Moreland.
