NATCHEZ — Private memorial services for Robert Wayne “Butch” Sills, 71, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be announced at a later date for family and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Mr. Sills was born Dec. 8, 1946, in McComb, the son of Helen Smith Sills.

He married the love of his life July 2,1971 — they celebrated their 46th anniversary in 2017.

Mr. Sills worked a number of years for ICG Railroad as a conductor. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Mr. Sills loved SEC football and Louisiana State University.

He was preceded in death by his mother; one sister, Sharon Bates; and one son-in-law, Karl Kleppinger Jr.

Survivors include his wife Kathleen Sills; three daughters, Patricia Hartley, Tracy Melton and husband, Ethan, and Alicia Sudduth and husband, Matthew; five grandchildren, Aaron Kleppinger, Jade Sudduth, Chloe Hartley, Logan Sudduth and Kaitlyn Hartley; two nieces, Kristi Bates Newman and Pepper Whitehead; and a life-long best friend, Jimmy Moore.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
