NATCHEZ — Police are requesting the public’s help to find a suspect who allegedly burglarized a local business Thursday night and used a stolen truck as his getaway vehicle.

The Natchez Police Department is on the lookout for Jeffrey Wayne Clark, 52, in connection with two crimes this week, NPD Chief Walter Armstrong said.

“We’ve issued warrants for his arrest, and we want the public’s help (in finding him),” Armstrong said.

Clark, who has an extensive criminal past in the area, allegedly stole a box truck from another local business earlier in the week.

Then, on Friday night he allegedly made off with an undisclosed amount of stolen groceries from Southside Market — located off U.S. 61 South — and took off in the stolen truck.

Clark has been arrested for numerous crimes in the county over the years. Most recently, he was arrested in December for allegedly intimidating a state witness in relation to an armed robbery case that Clark was charged for in early 2017.

Clark was out on bond, but Armstrong said the district attorney’s office has filed a motion to revoke Clark’s recognizance.
