NATCHEZ — A county man was arrested Tuesday in connection to a business burglary and auto theft from earlier this month.

Jeffery Wayne Clark was arrested on warrants from the Natchez Police Department for the crime. Natchez Police Chief Walter Armstrong said Clark was being held Tuesday afternoon at the Adams County Jail.

Approximately two weeks ago, Clark allegedly stole a box truck within Natchez city limits. Days later, he allegedly burglarized the Southside Market — located off U.S. 61 South — and fled the scene in the box truck.

Prior to this arrest, Clark has been arrested on a plethora of charges between the city and county dating back over the past several years. Most recently, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office charged Clark in December for intimidating a state witness in relation to an armed robbery case from early 2017.

Clark had been out on bond prior to Tuesday’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials from both the city and county have said Clark has used a serious medical condition as leverage to get himself out of jail on bond.
