The legislative breakfast is an annual event hosted by the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce.

The breakfast is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday in the ballroom at the Natchez Grand Hotel. The speakers are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.

Chamber President Debbie Hudson said the event is designed to give Natchez residents the opportunity to hear from their legislators.

“The public hears what the issues are in the state as well as issues that are important locally,” Hudson said.

Hudson said because local officials from the city, county and Natchez Inc. met in December to discuss opportunities for the community, this year’s breakfast will start with a discussion of how those issues will be presented in Jackson.

As in year’s past, the public has been invited to send in questions for lawmakers to answer.

Those questions can be sent to debbie@natchezchamber.com.

“As always, we will also allow the audience to ask questions,” Hudson said.

Hudson said audience members will be able to write the questions and submit them before the legislators talk.

Legislators who are expected to attend the breakfast are Sen. Bob Dearing, Sen. Tammy Witherspoon, Rep. Robert Johnson III, Rep. Angela Cockerham, and Rep. Sam Mims V.
