VIDALIA — Services for Juanita Elizabeth Wray Hutson, 86, who died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, in Brookhaven, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Dr. Ralph Webber Sr. officiating, assisted by the Rev. Whest Shirley.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday, both at the church.

Mrs. Hutson was born March 28, 1931, in Corydon, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Sarah Wray.

She was a member of Vidalia Baptist Church for a number of years, a member of the Young-at-Heart Sunday School Class and the choir.

Juanita loved being around people, which made her an excellent salesperson in her jobs with Tupperware and Young’s Funeral Home and in site management with Concordia Council on Aging. She loved visiting with people of all ages and especially spending time with her “domino group.” She was also known for her excellent cooking. Her family was her treasure on earth.

Mrs. Hutson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. Edwin E. Hutson; one son, Marten Kyle Probst; one grandson, Brandon Burnette; and eight siblings.

Survivors include two sons, Bruce Probst and wife, Amy, of Mandeville, La. and Tommy Probst and wife, Cheryl, of Vidalia; one daughter, Benita Hutson of Brookhaven; daughter-in-law, Debra Probst of Vidalia; 11 grandchildren, Kristiann Probst Sarah Probst, Dara Probst Shirley and husband, Whest, Adam Probst and wife, Shannon, Kayla Probst Purvis and husband, Joseph, Matthew Probst and wife, Emily, Kimberly Probst Warren and husband, Eric, Justin Burnette and wife, Annie, Kyla Burnette Smith and husband, Trent, Ashley Burnette Holmes and husband, Mike, and Nikki Burnette; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

Pallbearers will be Adam Probst, Matthew Probst, Joshua Cullen, Nicky Cullen, Christopher Burnette and Ashtin Castillo.

The family expresses their appreciation to the staff of Countrybrook Living Center in Brookhaven for the excellent care given to Juanita over the past three years.
