VIDALIA — Because of the forecast for inclement weather, Saturday’s Mardi Gras parades in Vidalia have been moved to Sunday afternoon.

Lineup will begin at 4 p.m. and the parade will start at 5 p.m. at the recreation center near Vidalia Lower Elementary School.

The Children’s Mardi Gras Parade will begin just ahead of the regular Mardi Gras Parade.

The parade will start at Vidalia Lower Elementary and travel down Concordia Avenue to the Vidalia Riverfront. The parade will end at the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center.

Vidalia Mayor Buz Craft said if the weather continues to look stormy for Sunday, the parade may be moved again. Craft said he is not sure which day the parade would be moved to in the case of a rainy Sunday.
