JONESVILLE — Services for Susan Lee Chisum, 71, of Jonesville, who died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at Plantation Oaks Nursing Home in Wisner, La., will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church of Jonesville with the Rev. Stewart Sherman officiating.

Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Chisum was born Oct. 1, 1946, in Tupelo, the daughter of James Lee Bain and Mary Nichols Bain.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jonesville.

She was a graduate of Mississippi State College for Women and was a lifelong educator who retired from Jonesville Elementary School.

Susan was very active in her community as well as being a florist and directing weddings.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, A.B. Chisum Jr.

Survivors include one son, John Chisum and wife, Kellie, of Sicily Island; one grandson, John Aubrey Chisum; one granddaughter, Chloe Chisum; one brother, Jim Bain and wife, Deborah, of Tupelo; two sisters, Betty Ridenhour and husband, Calvin, of Memphis, Tenn., and Sallye Stewart and husband, Clay, of Tupelo; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be James Parish, Austin Richard, Chad Champlin, Bo Bain, Walt Stewart, David Ridenhour and Jeffery Odom.
