Seven local basketball players from three different schools have been selected to participate in the MAIS All-Star Basketball Game tomorrow at Jackson Prep.

Cathedral School’s Caroline Kaiser was selected as the first ever member of the Green Wave to play as an all-star for basketball.

“It feels good,” Kaiser said. “I’m really excited, but I’m kind of nervous because I haven’t practiced in a while.”

Kaiser should have no problem shaking her nerves as she averaged 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and five steals a game as a senior.

“I figured if I tried really hard it would pay off in the end. I knew my team needed me,” Kaiser said. “I am excited to meet new people and play with all the all-stars.”

From Adams County Christian School, Lexie Emanuel and Brianna Henson were selected from the girls team, while Josh Day and Julian Wilson made the boys all-star team.

Emanuel and Henson led the Lady Rebels to an appearance in the MAIS Class AAA State Tournament. The duo was also selected as MAIS Softball All-Stars.

Wilson and Day aided the Rebels to a third-place finish this year in the MAIS Class AAA State Tournament.

After winning the MAIS Class A South State Championship, Trinity Episcopal’s Dee Fleming and Cedric Daniels were also selected as MAIS All-Stars.

Fleming and Daniels will play in the Class A/AA boys game at 11:30 a.m. Emanuel and Henson will take the court at 1 p.m. for the Class AAA/AAAA girls game, and Wilson and Day will play in the Class AAA/AAAA boys game at 2:30 p.m.
