JONESVILLE — Services for Mary “Mag” Wood, 89, of Jonesville, who died Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Columns Nursing Home, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Utility Baptist Church in Jonesville with the Rev. James Foster and the Rev. Mike Russell officiating.
Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery in Jonesville under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Wood was born May 23, 1929, in Athens, Ala., the daughter of Joseph W. Russell and Nina Webb Russell.
She was a member of Utility Baptist Church and an active member of the WMU and the Bread Crumb Ministry of Jonesville.
Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delbert M. Wood; an infant grandson; two brothers, Ronald Smith and Ted Russell; and four sisters, Ester Walker, Louise Burch, Maxine Payne and Kathleen Beck.
Survivors include two sons, Charles D. Wood and wife, Nan, of Jonesville, and Gary Wood and wife, Pam, of Natchez; two brothers, Darby Russell and wife, Emily, of Jonesville and Bill Russell of Trumann, Ark.; three grandsons, Scott Wood of Orlando, Fla., Jeremy Wood and wife, Christie, of Jonesville and Russ Wood and wife, Meghan, of Natchez; two granddaughters, Alicia Wood of Baton Rouge and Erin Brown and husband, Brent, of Jonesville; five great-grandsons, Tyler Brown, Max Wood, Honoré Wood, Chase Brown and Carter Wood; and five great-granddaughters, Maggie Brown, Mary Kaitlyn Wood, Lyla Wood, Sophie Wood and Lucy Wood.
Pallbearers will be Scott Wood, Jeremy Wood, Russ Wood, Joey Russell, Brent Brown and Tyler Brown.
