With the threat of inclement weather later in the week, Vidalia High School hosted Rayville High School for an LHSAA District 2-2A varsity doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at the Concordia Recreation Complex.

Rayville jumped out to an early lead in both games, but Vidalia’s bats were too much for the Hornets to contend with as the Vikings won the first game 17-4 in five innings and 14-4 in six innings in the second game.

The Hornets scored two runs in the top of the first inning, but the Vikings took command with a five-run rally in the bottom of the first inning followed by four runs in the bottom of the second.
