LORMAN — Alcorn State University’s Golden Girls have helped put the Fleetwood Mac’s 40-year-old song “Dreams” back on the Billboard charts.
A Twitter post featuring a clip of the dance squad marching into the school’s football stadium overlayed with the classic rock song quickly went viral last month.
“Fleetwood Mac’s music is so boring, you can’t even dance to it”

The video featured the first performance of Elexis Wilson as captain of the Golden Girls during a football game last September.
Wilson told the Washington Post she was shocked that people were actually watching the video. The meme has been viewed by millions and digital streams of “Dreams” went up 24 percent to 1.9 million views the following week, according to Billboard. The 1977 song recently entered top 15 on Billboard’s Hot Rock Songs chart.
