NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Leroy Holmes Jr., 64, of Natchez, who died on Monday, April 2, 2018, at Merit Health Natchez, will be at 3 p.m. today at Grove AME in Natchez.

Burial will follow at Grove AME Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service today at the funeral home.

Mr. Holmes was born on Jan. 11, 1942, the son of Luella Conner-Pettis and Leroy Holmes Sr., He was an active member of his church and held positions on the Trustee Board, Usher Board, Cemetery Club and the Sons of Allen.

Mr. Holmes was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucy Davis Holmes; brothers, Willie Holmes and Lee Andrew Woods; sister, Frankie Lee Martin and grandson, Del Tarus Holmes.

He is survived by his daughters, Geraldine Jackson and husband David, Sharon Holmes, and Angela Miller and husband Tyron; his sisters, Agnes McKnight and Augustine Williams; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one aunt, Carrie Conner; special friend, Sarah Manning, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
