NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Albert F. “Buster” Schilling, 86, of Natchez, who died peacefully Wednesday, March 28, 2018, will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery.
Mr. Schilling was born Jan. 5, 1932, the son of Walter Schilling and Dorothy Fine Schilling.
Buster was a loyal Louisiana State University fan and loved and enjoyed golfing weekly with his buddies. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served four years as an academic-tactical instructor. Coaching, teaching and serving as assistant principal with the Natchez public schools for more than 20 years were just a few of his achievements.
Retiring from the Department of Residential Life after 15 years on the LSU Baton Rouge campus, kept Buster active in serving his community while also serving as a member and secretary of LSU Kiwanis Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Steven Roy and Louis E Schilling; and one sister, Georgia Schilling.
Survivors include one daughter, Diana Lynn Schilling and longtime friends, Genevieve Acton, Teresa Gayle, Barbara Ann Stein, Mike Acton, Conrad Gayle, Steven Gayle, Preston Lamy, Mason Acton and special friend, Yvonne Gonzales.
