Mr. West was born June 20, 1924, in Chunky, the son of Darling D. West and Madie Monroe West.

Mr. West’s life was of unselfishness and servanthood to other people. He faithfully served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He and his wife, June, worked many tireless hours assisting the food pantry mission in Franklin County.

He used his business to touch the lives of multitudes of teenagers and parents alike as they placed orders for his delicious hamburgers, fries and chili buns. The lives of a number of generations were touched by his soft spoken, kind and encouraging words. All those that stopped by continue to hold fond memories of time spent at “West Side Drive In.” He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
