Mr. West was born June 20, 1924, in Chunky, the son of Darling D. West and Madie Monroe West.

Mr. West’s life was of unselfishness and servanthood to other people. He faithfully served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was for a number of years a faithful and active member of Meadville United Methodist Church. He and his wife, June, worked many tireless hours assisting the food pantry mission in Franklin County.

Mr. West was owner and operator of “West Side Drive In,” located on the west side of Meadville. He used his business to touch the lives of multitudes of teenagers and parents alike as they placed orders for his delicious hamburgers, fries and chili buns. The lives of a number of generations were touched by his soft spoken, kind and encouraging words. All those that stopped by continue to hold fond memories of time spent at “West Side Drive In.” He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
