GREENWOOD — Services for James Henry McCabe III, 75, of Greenwood, who died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his family, will be 2 p.m. today at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jim Phillips officiating.
Burial will follow at Odd Fellow Cemetery under the direction of Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood.
Mr. McCabe was born Dec. 10, 1942, in Greenwood, the son of James Henry McCabe Jr. and Mable Lipe McCabe.
He retired from Co-op Tire after 26 years of service.
Henry was an avid Civil War historian, re-enactor and collector. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and served as past president of Cottonlandia Museum.
Mr. McCabe was a member of North Greenwood Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Becky Jones McCabe; one daughter, Missy McCabe Hames and husband, Jason, of Carrollton; one son, James “Bubba” Henry McCabe IV and wife, Katie, of Natchez; one granddaughter, Alex Williamson of Greenwood; one sister, Mary Parker McCabe Wilson of Clinton; and nephew, Robbie Wilson of Greenwood.
Pallbearers will be Justin Brunson, Will Freeman, Jimmy Fred Weaver, Larry McCluney, Matt Hodges and Warren Robinson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles McCurdy, Russell Brunson and Jim Lipe.
Memorial may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road, S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047.
