FERRIDAY — Services for Shelvy Joe Dunkley, 82, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at his daughter’s residence in Keithville, La., will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Word of Faith Ambassador Outreach in Ferriday with the Rev. Justin Connor officiating.
Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Mount Beulah Baptist Church.
Mr. Dunkley was born Sept. 26, 1935, in Frogmore, the son of Joe Dunkley and Ellidee Johnson Lewis.
He was a retired chef supervisor for Diamond National and a retired correctional officer for Concordia Parish Corrections.
Mr. Dunkley was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include two children, Michaelynne D. Franklin and husband, Marcus, of Keithville, and Shelvy Mark Dunkley and wife, Gussie, of Mansfield, La.; two aunts, Jessie Mae Johnson of Ferriday and Inell Johnson of Pensacola, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
