SULPHUR, La. — The Delta Charter School baseball team will be playing at 2 p.m. today in Sulphur for its first LHSAA Class 1A state championship in school history.

The Storm claimed a title berth after downing Kentwood High School, 5-3, on Thursday in the state semifinals.

Ninth-ranked Delta Charter has had an up and down season this year, but has found its stride as of late in the playoffs. Before defeating Kentwood, the Storm beat No. 1 seed LaSalle, 9-2, last week.

Delta Charter will be taking on No. 11 seed Merryville High School in the championship, who took down No. 2 seed Grand Lake High School, 8-0, on Thursday.
