Mrs. Therese Garner of Natchez announces the engagement of her daughter, Katelyn Branche Garner to Dr. Jaryd Kaufman Zummer, son of Dr. and Mrs. Michel Zummer. The bride-to-be is also the daughter of the late Richard Dale Garner of Roxie.

She is a graduate of Adams County Christian School in Natchez and the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She will be employed by University of Kentucky Health Care in Lexington, Ky., as an internal medicine physician.

Miss Garner is the granddaughter of the late Aubrey and Jimmy Ruth Garner and the great-niece of the late Juanita Mullins, all of Roxie. She is also the granddaughter of JoAnne McMillin Dukes and the late James Richard Daniels of Natchez.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Selwyn House School and McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. He will also be employed by University of Kentucky Health Care in Lexington, as an emergency room physician.

He is the grandson of Frederick and Marga Zummer and the late Joseph and Mary Kaufman, all of Montreal.

An engagement party was Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Murphree in Jackson.

The wedding will be 6:30 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018, at The South Warehouse in Jackson, preceded by cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 5:30 p.m.

Dinner and dancing to follow the ceremony.
