Weekend weather: Enjoy the sunshine and heat; rain chances increase early next week

NATCHEZ — If you like to get outdoors and don’t mind the typical summer heat, this weekend may be made for you.
The National Weather Service in Jackson says that this weekend will be filled with plenty of sunny skies and afternoon temperatures reaching into the 90s.
Expect mostly sunny skies today through Sunday with a 20 percent chance of isolated shower and thunderstorms this weekend. High temperatures should be around 92 degrees. There is a 40 percent chance of storms this afternoon between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Evenings should be pleasant with partly cloudy skies, calm winds and low temperatures hovering around 70 degrees.
Monday the chances of showers and thunderstorms will increase to 40 percent. The biggest chance of rain should be after 1 p.m. High temperatures will be slightly cooler, narrowly missing the 90 degree mark.
