KIRBY — Services for Leonard Dave Jackson Sr., 65, of Roxie, who died Sunday, May 13, 2018, in Roxie, will be 11 a.m. Sunday at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Kirby, with the Rev. Dr. Steven Harrison Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. A Masonic service will begin at 5 p.m., with visitation continuing from 5 to 7 p.m.

Visitation will continue Sunday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

Leonard was born Nov. 10, 1952, in Natchez, the son of John Henry Jackson Sr. and Ruby Lee Jackson.

He was educated in the Natchez-Adams School District and was retired from International Paper Company and Mississippi Department of Transportation. He was also a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church where he served as chairman of the deacon board.

Mr. Jackson also was a member of the M.W.W. T. W. Grant Jr. Grand Lodge Board of Trustees and Adah Grand Chapter. He enjoyed attending church events, cooking, wild game and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his father; one son, Leonard Dave Jackson Jr.; two brothers, Arthur Craig Jackson and Thomas Jackson; and his father and mother-in-law, Albert and Elizabeth Hunt.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Hunt Jackson; his mother; one son, Torrey Anderson; three daughters, LaShanda Jackson Brown and husband, Warren DeWayne, Kimberly Jackson and Ivei Nicole McCoy; three brothers, John Henry Jackson Jr., Walter “Bubba” Jackson and wife, Della, and Dwayne Jackson; three sisters, Helen Faye Johnson, Shelia Hickingbottom and husband, Tyrone, and Larenza Jones and husband, Henry; three grandchildren, LaBria K. Brown, Brandon Washington and Haylee McCoy; goddaughter, Kirsten Hickingbottom; and other relatives and friends.
