Tuesday, May 22

Vernetha Roschell Brown, 34, pleaded guilty to three counts of  misdemeanor credit card fraud. Sentenced to 90 days with 87 days suspended for one year pending good behavior on each count. To serve three days in jail on each count. Fine set at $750 on each count. Restitution set at $332.87 on Count I, $433.25 on Count II, and 218.49 on Count III, all to be paid to Walmart. Banned from all Walmart locations.

Justin Albert Davis, 30, charged with robbery. Case dismissed – no probable cause found after preliminary hearing held. Davis also charged with burglary of a dwelling, whether armed or not, whether occupied or not. Case dismissed — no probable cause found after preliminary hearing held.

James Gibson Jr., 56, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor false pretense. Sentenced to 30 days with 29 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve one day in jail. Fine set at $500. Restitution set at $288.38.

Carl Sontonayue Jenkins, 21, charged with simple assault — domestic violence. Case dismissed based on testimony and lack of cooperation of victim.

James Toliver Turner, 41, charged with murder. Case bound over to a grand jury after preliminary hearing held. Bond reduced to $200,000.

Bryson Maurico Wallace, 21, charged with murder. Case bound over to a grand jury after preliminary hearing held. Bond reduced to $400,000.

Caleb Ray Walton, 28, charged with felon carrying a concealed weapon. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Jerome Williams, 38, charged with three counts credit cards — use to obtain things of value/to operate ATM with intent to defraud. Case dismissed — co-defendant took the blame and stated he did not participate.

Tylon Japree Martin, 26, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor unauthorized use. Sentenced to 60 days with 53 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve seven days in jail. Fine set at $500. Restitution set at $264.24 to be paid to the Natchez Police Department.

Riley Jerome Trask, 32, charged with aggravated stalking. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury. Trask also charged with attempted crime. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury. Trask also charged with burglary of a dwelling, whether armed or not, whether occupied or not. Waived preliminary hearing. Trask also charged with motor vehicle theft. Waived preliminary hearing.

Dewayne Mantrell Young, 30, charged with controlled substance violations. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Natamasha Nicole Hawkins, 39, found guilty of disorderly conduct — disturbing the peace. Sentenced to 30 days. Banned from place of business. Fine set at $500. Restitution set at $163.75 Hawkins also found guilty of disorderly conduct — failure to comply. Sentenced to 30 days. Banned from 205. St. Charles Avenue, Natchez Community Center, and Natchez Grand Hotel. Fine set at $500. Restitution set at $163.75. Hawkins also found guilty of simple assault; attempt by fear of imminent serious bodily harm. Sentenced to 30 days. Banned from 29 Davis Court and 206 Parker Street.

Rachel Antwuansha Shelvy, 21, charged with simple assault — domestic violence. Motion to dismiss made by attorney Chandler — victim failed to appear. Motion granted.

Darren Denzal Washington, 26, found guilty of possession of marijuana (1-30 grams) while operating a motor vehicle. Fine set at $500. Restitution set at $188.75. Washington also found guilty of violation of municipal criminal ordinances: noise ordinance. Sentenced to three days. Fine set at $353.

Kendrell Damone Johnson, pleaded guilty to controlled substance violations. Driver’s license suspended for six months. Fine set at $438.75 minus $100 cash bond transfer. Must pay a fine of $338.75.
