FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Gerald Spencer Holland, 71, who died Saturday, May 26, 2018 in Jonesville, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with Bro. Tony Ganey officiating.

Burial services will follow at Ford Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to the time of service Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home.

Gerald Holland was born on Sunday, Dec. 15, 1946 in Ferriday, the son of Lloyd Holland and Christine Ford Holland. Gerald was a graduate from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.   He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Holland was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edwin “Boo” Holland.

He is survived by his son, Justin and Toye Holland of Jonesville; one brother, Jimmy and Sandra Holland of Jonesville; sisters Cheryl Ann Holland and Barbara Sue Holland; granddaughters Christine and husband Ben Parker, Katie Holland and Courtney Holland and two great-grandchildren, Elisha Parker and Eleanora Parker.

Pallbearers will be Buster Ford, Jimmy Holland, Pete Ford, Pete Ford Jr., Tad Wilson and Donnie Huffman. Honorary pallbearer will be Ned Wilson.
