Roxie — A memorial service for Kenneth Marvin Halford, 63, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, June 12, 2018, will be 3 p.m., Monday at Roxie Baptist Church with Rev. Vann Windom and Rev. Jamie Wallace officiating.

Halford was born on Jan. 27, 1955, and is the son of James Kenneth Halford and Walterine Moore Halford of Roxie. 

He was raised in Roxie, where he attended Franklin Christian Academy and graduated with honors as valedictorian in the class of 1973. He continued his education at Copiah Lincoln Community College and Mississippi State University. 

He was employed for more than 30 years by Live Oak Landscapes and Nursery in Natchez. He was a landscaper by trade, and his green thumb brought an abundance of beauty to this world.

Halford grew up as a member of Roxie Baptist Church and was also a lifelong follower of Christ. He loved sports and enjoyed attending live games and watching any games, except ice hockey, on television. 

He was preceded in death by his father, James Kenneth Halford; daughter, Nikko Lynn Beach, and his beloved wife of 32 years, Nancy Amox Halford. 

Survivors include his mother, Walterine Moore Halford; daughter, Kency Halford of Monroe; son, Chad Beach and Alicia of Vidalia; granddaughter Zoey Drumgo of Monroe; two grandsons, Cameron Cox and Casen Beach, of Vidalia; brother, Darrell Halford and Tammy of Roxie; sister Tricia Beach and Mickey of Roxie; sister Tanya Lee and Ken of Roxie; sister Marla Murray and Lance of Bude; brother-in-law, Jim Amox and sister-in-law, Gayle Amox Cowan of Vidalia and a number of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, neighbors, clients, business associates, and co-workers. 

Halford will be buried at Greenlawn Cemetery in Natchez.
