FAYETTE — Services for Kristen Gená Walker, 13, of Fayette, who died on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Blair E. Batson’s Children Hospital in Jackson, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hollywood Baptist Church in Fayette with the Rev. James Jones officiating.    

Burial will follow at Mount Israel Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home’s Natchez chapel with a celebration of life wake service at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.

Miss Walker was born on Dec. 31, 2004, in Natchez, the daughter of James Walker and Genetter January-Walker.

Kristen completed the 2017-18 academic school year at Adams County Christian School as a 7th grade honor student.  She attended Mount Israel Baptist Church.

Kristen enjoyed taking pictures, making videos, face-timing, snapchatting, and spending time with her family, BFFs and special friend, Michael Hunt.

Kristen was preceded in death by one sister, Candice Walker; grandmothers, Julia Walker and Luella Brooks; grandfather, Andrew January Sr.; and four uncles, Michael O. January, Arthur Walker, Glenn Brooks and Dwayne Walker.

Survivors include her parents; four brothers, Dontae Walker, Kendrick January Sr., Derrick January and Michael January; one sister, Aisha January-Johnson; grandparents, Anita Cosey-January and John Brooks; godparents, Kendall Gibbs Sr. and Don’Zella; and other relatives and friends.
