FERRIDAY — Memorial services for Melvin “Donald Ray” Maples, of Vidalia, who died Monday, June 25, 2018, in Vidalia, will be noon Friday at Young’s Funeral Home Ferriday Chapel.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Maples was preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life, Billy Jane Maples; his parents, Butler and Sally Maples; six sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin Randall Maples of Natchez and Melvin “Rusty” Maples Jr. and wife, Donna, of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Glynda Cain and husband, Jeffery, of Vidalia, and Lynda Whittington and husband, Michael, of Bunkie; eight grandchildren, Miranda and Amanda Maples, Jimmy and William Stone, Zachary and Ruston Maples, Elizabeth and Tori Wallace and Adam Holmes; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
