Suspects caught on video breaking in to hunting camp

NATCHEZ — Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies say video surveillance of a breaking and entering that was posted on Facebook helped investigators identify one of two suspects in the case, and they have issued an arrest warrant for the suspect.
Investigators still are trying, however, to identify the other suspect captured on video breaking in a window to a hunting camp June 22 on Liberty Road in Adams County.
Chief Deputy Jerry Brown said the owner of the camp, Derek Aucoin, reported the incident on June 22 and said it was the third time in nine months the camp had been broken in to.
Aucoin said the first break-in occurred in September and the second in April.
“The first time, they didn’t steal anything,” Aucoin said. “Then in April they stole everything in there.”
After the second break-in, Aucoin said he purchased an inexpensive security camera and alarm system for approximately $200.
“The alarm and camera was worth it,” Aucoin said. “Hopefully the word will get out.”
Aucoin said the thieves did not take much from the hunting camp in the most recent break-in.
“We love to come up to the country, and then you have to worry about this,” Aucoin said, adding the event occurred at 2:50 p.m. June 22, and he and his family arrived at the camp at 4:50 p.m. that day. “We would like to come out and not have to worry about stuff like this.”
