NATCHEZ — Services for Paul W. Johnson, 83, of Natchez, who died Saturday, June 30, 2018, in Alexandria, La., will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Church of God of Prophecy in Natchez with the Rev. Grady Fulton officiating.         
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and from 10:30 a.m. until service time Thursday, both at the church.
Mr. Johnson was a retired Sgt. 1stClass from the U.S. Army and a member of Church of God in Prophecy in Natchez. He loved God, his family and his country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Elvira Johnson; two daughters, Kay Barrow and Ginger Barrow; one son, Shelby Alexander Johnson; two grandchildren, Joey and Josh Barrow; three sisters; and five brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Cricket Johnson; one son, Glen Johnson and wife, Natalie, of Springtown, Texas; one daughter, Paula Johnson of Port Deposit, Md.; one brother, Lewis Johnson and wife, Patsy, of Sicily Island; three sisters, Dorothy Reid of Natchez, Annette Barnett and husband, Delbert, of Junction City, Ill., and Deloris Bland and husband, Gillis, of Natchez; seven grandchildren, April Johnson-Carl, William K. Sumpter, Crystal Johnson, Rebecca Marshall, Christopher Johnson, Jeremy Barrow and Justin Borrow; four great-grandchildren, Brianna Stephens, Kevin Kirkland, Jevin Barrow and Macy Bernard; three great-great-grandchildren, Joey Stephens, Stormee Stephens and Jaxyn Kirkland; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chris Johnson, Jeremy Barrow, Justin Barrow, Kevin Kirkland, Bud Vineyard and Johnny Barrow.
Honorary pallbearers will be William Sumpter and Dwayne Barnett.
