NATCHEZ — Services for Harold Milton Whittington, 93, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at his residence, will be 2 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Griffen officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Whittington was born May 20, 1925, in Amite County, the son of Fred Whittington and Mary Freeman Whittington.
Whittington served in the U.S. Army and retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company. He owned and operated Whittington Auto Sales for 65 years. He was a deacon and charter member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church.

Whittington was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 67 years, Bonnell Whittington; one son, William Mark Whittington; one great-grandson, Tucker Cross Hinson; one sister, Inez Tew; and one brother, Paul Whittington.
Survivors include his three children, Milton Whittington and wife, Penny, Steve Whittington and wife, Tammy, and Janet Bruce and husband, Bubba, all of Natchez; eight grandchildren, Adam Whittington and wife, Abby, of Brandon, Kayce Hinson and husband, Brett, of Vidalia, Stephen Whittington, Cory Whittington, Anna Peyton Whittington, all of Hattiesburg, Haley Whittington and Sarah Beth Welch and husband, Jerod, all of Natchez, and Ward Bruce and wife, Lori, of Vidalia; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ken Whittington and wife, Martha, of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his beloved pets, Tee and Gadget.
Pallbearers will be Adam Whittington, Justin Whittington, Ward Bruce, Jerod Welch, Will Welch and Brett Hinson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Whittington, Craig Whittington, Derick Whittington and Alex Bishop.
A special thank you to Dr. Kenneth Stubbs, Deaconess Hospice and his caregivers, Sunni Dorman, Deren Moffett, Lee Atkins, Rebecca Atkins and Rebecca Verdin.
