FAYETTE — Services for Hugh James “Louie” Moffett, 58, of Fayette, who died Thursday, July 5, 2018, at his residence, will be noon Monday at Community Methodist Church in Fayette with the Rev. Aaron Lamb officiating.

Burial will follow at Cane Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Mr. Moffett was born Aug. 28, 1959, in Adams County, the son of James A. Moffett Jr. and Dell C. Moffett. He loved to hunt and fish and served honorably in the National Guard for 12 years.

He was very proud of his recent accomplishment of becoming auxiliary deputy sheriff of Jefferson County, J-139. He was a die-hard football fan of the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints.

Mr. Moffett was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Nelda Moffett; one son, James Deren Moffett; one stepson, Mark Louge Jr.; one stepdaughter, Ashley Moore and husband, Robert; six grandchildren, Paxton Moffett, Audrey Cate Moffett, Gabriel Kirk, Isabella Kirk, Isabelle Louge and Brentley Louge; two brothers, Alvis Don Ward and wife, Alice, and Glenn Ward and wife, Nadean; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
