BROOKHAVEN — Services for Mary George Collins, 84, of Brookhaven, who died Monday, July 9, 2018, at her residence, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church Brookhaven.
Burial will follow at Riverwood Memorial Park under the direction of Riverwood Family Services in Brookhaven.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday, both at the church.
Mrs. Collins was born Aug. 20, 1933, the daughter of James Laffette Dalton and Edna Edrie Minyard Dalton.
She was a member of First Baptist Church Brookhaven and served on the nursing home ministry, the LLL program and was a member of the Joy Choir. She was also an independent Mary Kay consultant for 34 years.
Collins was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert “Bobby” McKinley Collins; one son, James Marcus Collins; granddaughter, Hillary Claire Collins; two sisters, Geri Petrazak and Doris McDaniel; and sister-in-law, Gwen Dalton.
Survivors include one son, Robert “Kent” McKinley Collins Jr. and wife, Vickie; two daughters, Carolyn Collins Stephens and husband, Marty, and Lisa Collins Walsh and husband, Matthew; one brother, Jimmy Dan Dalton; eight grandchildren, Jacob Collins, Amanda Collins Gardner and husband, Cliff, Hannah Collins, Erin Collins Walsh, Ashley Dalton Stephens, Andrew Collins Walsh, Clint Stephens and Elena Walsh; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Tucker Gardner; and honorary son, Billy Floyd.
