FERRIDAY — Services for Yvonne Barnes, 62, of Baton Rouge, who died Thursday, July 5, 2018, at her residence, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Concordia Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Dandridge Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ms. Barnes was born April 19, 1956, in Tallulah, La., the daughter of Leon Barnes and Elvira Sims.
She was a retired correctional officer for Tensas Parish Correctional Center.
Barnes was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sarah Turner; two brothers, Charles Barnes and Sylvester Barnes; four sisters, Elvira Barnes, Ernestine Davis, Lorraine Barnes and Connie Barnes; one grandson, Kelsey Minor Jr.; and one nephew, Frederick Barnes.
Survivors include three daughters, Gloria Minor and husband, Kelsey, and Lora Johnson, all of Baton Rouge, and Verna Ellis of Vidalia; three brothers, Leon Barnes and Alvin Barnes of St. Joseph, and Calvin Barnes of New Orleans; one brother-in-law, George Davis of New Orleans; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Barnes and Peggy Barnes of St. Joseph; 13 grandchildren; and fiancé, Ray Davis of St. Joseph.
