Robert was born on October 4, 1936, and the son of Dorothy Tibbits and the late John Berret, Sr.

Bobby was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959 and somehow carried out his service time without ever stepping on a ship.

He was retired from International Paper Company where he worked for more than 25 years.

He was an outdoorsman who loved to fish and loved to cook. He loved his dog, Levi and they spent many hours together out near the port where Levi could run and play. He liked watching NASCAR and any Manning play football, especially Peyton. He had a great sense of humor, loved to play jokes on people and liked to drink a beer. Often times the last you would hear from him as he disappeared for an hour or so was, “I’m going to Skeeter’s” where a cold one was waiting for him. He was a loving husband and father.

He was preceded in death by both parents and a stepson, Jeffrey Thomas.

Survivors include his wife Mary Evelyn Berret; daughter Robin Emily Berret; stepson, Carl Thomas; and stepdaughter, Cheryl Laughinghouse. Other survivors include his sister, Patricia Berret; brother, John Berret, Jr.; cousin, Dooks Kimbrell; cousin Edward “Skeeter” Wilson who was truly his “special brother”; and a loving dog, Levi.
