Concordia elections set for Nov. 6

VIDALIA — Robert Maples will be the new mayor of Ridgecrest after the November elections.
Maples is the only candidate who qualified to run for position before the July 20 qualifying deadline and will be the town’s new mayor by default.
Other races for which candidates qualified for the November elections include alderman seats in Ridgecrest, Concordia Parish School Board seats, Concordia Parish Constable Justice of the Peace District 2 and an alderman position in Clayton to fill the unexpired term of Irene Jefferson who recently died.
Here is a breakdown of candidates who qualified for those positions and will be on the ballots Nov. 6.
Constable Justice of the Peace District 2
Terrence A. Williams, incumbent, is running unopposed
Concordia Parish School Board
- District 1 Place A: Fred Butcher, incumbent, is running unopposed
- District 1 Place B: Dorothy Parker is running unopposed to fill the position of Mary H. Campbell, who is not seeking reelection
- District 2: Raymond T. Riley Sr., incumbent, is running unopposed
- District 3 Place A: Ricky Raven, incumbent, is running unopposed
- District 3 Place B: Amy DeWitt and Lisette Foreman will face each other for the position being vacated by Cheryl C. Probst, who is not seeking reelection
- District 4 Place A: Derrick Carson, Brad Clifton and Ron Walter are vying for the seat being vacated by Ronnie Bradford, who is not seeking reelection
- District 4 Place B: Angela Hayes is running against incumbent Jeffery Goodman
- District 5 Place A: Warren Enterkin, incumbent, is running unopposed
- District 5 Place B: Ralph Simmons is running against incumbent John Bostic
Clayton Board of Aldermen
Carl Ray Thompson and Wilber Washington will vie for the seat left vacant by Jefferson
Ridgecrest Board of Aldermen all unopposed
- Connie Adair, incumbent
- Rita “Mitzi” Bolyer, incumbent
- Veller Ray Carroll
- Darleen Humphries, incumbent
- “Josh” Wells.
