JONESVILLE — Funeral services for Alice “Linda” Clingan, 85 of Jonesville, Louisiana, who died Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, in Jonesville, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Jonesville with Bro. Mickey Hudnall, Bro. Dustin Robertson and Bro. David Richmond officiating.

Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Rhinehart, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home – Jonesville.

Mrs. Clingan was born on Nov. 4, 1932, in Utility, Louisiana. She was a resident of Jonesville, lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and worked in the lunch room at Block High School.

Mrs. Clingan was an avid gardener, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who loved to cook for her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Houston O. Boyd Sr. and Martha Oneal Boyd, husband, Curtis Doughty, grandson, Israel Boothe, four brothers, Loyd Boyd, H.O. Boyd Jr., A.D. Boyd and Joe Boyd, and two sisters, Doris Hennigan and Olivia Boyd Wiley.

She is survived by her husband, Willie “Bud” Clingan of Jonesville, Louisiana; sons, Michael Doughty and his wife Eileen of Jena, Louisiana, and Erine Clingan and his wife Lisa of Gonzales, Louisiana; daughters, Janet Doughty Sanson and her husband Alvin of Jonesville, Amy Doughty Westbrooks and her husband Leroy of Jena, and Julie Clingan McCarthy and her husband Stevie of Jonesville; brother, Billy Boyd and his wife Helen of Jonesville; sisters, Mary Wanda Boyd Wiggins of Jonesville, Louisiana, Thelma Boyd Creel and her husband Larry of Jonesville; and sisters-in-law, Corrine Morris Boyd of Jonesville, and Sarah Brown Boyd of Minden, Louisiana. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mikey Doughty, Caleb Doughty, Robert Lee Wiggins, Bobby Creel, Bubba Wilson and Clifford Boyd.

The family will receive friends at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., Sunday, August 5, 2018.
