NATCHEZ — Services for Deborah Griffin Evans, 67, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at Merit Central in Jackson, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Vidalia.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Evans was born Dec. 20, 1950, in Santa Rosa, Calif., the daughter of Billy Griffin and Doris Griffin.
She was a graduate of South Natchez High School. After graduation, she married the love of her life, Danny. They had two beautiful daughters together. Debby was a stay at home mom, a loving, caring, and dedicated mom to her daughters and to their friends as well. A doting Memaw to her three grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, and a great mother-in-law.
Evans was self-sacrificing and a mentor to her family and many friends. She never met a stranger and spread her kindness to all she met. She loved animals, especially her Great Dane, Duke. She was Girl Scout leader for seven years and a former member of the Vidalia Women’s Club.
She attended Sycamore Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Danny Evans.
Survivors include her two daughters, Sarah Evans Krevolin and husband, Andrew, and Jennifer Evans Kirk and husband, Adam; and three grandchildren, Jack, Ethan and Olivia.
She is also survived by her beloved Great Dane, Duke.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Saunders, Mac Britt, Ferrell Kingsafer, Mike O’Neal, George Rutherford and Jimmy Robbins.
