BROOKHAVEN — Services for Paul Ernest Barlow, 90, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at Silver Cross Nursing Home in Brookhaven with his loving family by his side, will be 3 p.m.  Saturday at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel, 894 Natchez Drive, in Brookhaven, with the Rev. Ben Barlow, great-nephew of Mr. Barlow, officiating.
Burial will follow at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery in Loyd Star under the direction of Brookhaven Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Barlow was born Nov. 7, 1927, in Brookhaven, the son of Boyce Barlow and Rosa Lee Newell Barlow.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He served on the Natchez Police Department from October 1965 to Sept. 30, 1983, at which time he retired with the rank of captain.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, the Rev. Roy Nelson Barlow; and one great-granddaughter, Jacquelyn Grace Knotts.
Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Annie Pearl Smith Barlow; three daughters, Sandra Wigley and husband, Mickey, Judy Thompson and husband, Tommy, and Sherry Reagan and husband, Lane; two sons, Paul Wesley Barlow and Richard Wayne Barlow and wife, Michele; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Smith and husband, Alfred; and a number of family and friends.
Special thanks to the staff of Silver Cross Nursing Home in Brookhaven for the love and care given to Mr. Barlow and for the continued loving care for his beloved wife.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Barlow’s name may be made to: Lovely Lane United Methodist Church in Natchez.
