Myrtle Elizabeth Laird

Fayette— Services for Myrtle Elizabeth Laird, 73, of Fayette, who died Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at University of Mississippi Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Bethesda Baptist Church with Brother Tony Monk officiating. Burial will follow at Union Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Ms. Laird was born Sept. 27, 1944, in Virginia, the daughter of Earl Van McCurley and Letha Walker McCurley.

Mrs. Laird was a member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jimmy Conner; and one daughter in-law, Jeri Smith.

Survivors include her beloved husband W.C. Laird; three children, Johnnie Smith Jr., Van Smith and Jenna Bearden; daughter in-law, Judy Smith; son in-law Pat Bearden; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jeffery Barr, John Smith, Cole Smith, James Conner, Robert Case, Charles Case and Ray Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rayford Smith and Dr. David M. Headley.
