NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Nancy Meng Byrne, 86, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at Adams County Nursing Center, will be 2 p.m. today at Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Wentworth officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Byrne was born June 16, 1932, in Vidalia, the daughter of Harry Herndon Meng and Mary Alice Emerson Meng.
She cherished her family and her family cherished her. She was a woman of faith with a great love of God and her Lord the Savior Jesus Christ.
Byrne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, W. J. “Billy” Byrne; two sisters, Vicki Byrne and Mary Lou Paine; one brother, Harry Meng; and one granddaughter, Katy Byrne.
Survivors include her three children, Bill Byrne and wife, Debra, of Natchez, Nell Gandy and husband, Warren, of Baton Rouge, and Harry Byrne and wife, Lisa, of Destin, Fla.; six grandchildren, Evan Byrne, Sarah Bausell and husband, Kenny, Sean Byrne, William Byrne, Thomas Gandy and Nancy Gandy; two great-grandchildren, Ayers Bausell and Phoebe Bausell; one brother, Dr. Austin Meng and wife, Millie; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Evan Byrne, Sean Byrne, William Byrne, Thomas Gandy, Warren Gandy and Kenny Bausell.
The family wishes to express gratitude to her devoted caretakers, Carrie Ozan and Mamie West.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Nancy’s name to any charity of choice.
