NATCHEZ — A Natchez man was killed Thursday night in a fatal motorcycle accident at the intersection of Seargent S. Prentiss and D’Evereux drives.

Austin Michael Rymer, 23, died Thursday near the exit on Seargent S. Prentiss Drive while traveling north to U.S. 61, said Natchez Police Chief Walter Armstrong.

The accident reportedly occurred approximately 11:30 p.m. Thursday, and Rymer was pronounced dead on the scene, said Adams County Coroner James Lee.

“My heart goes out to his family and friends,” Lee said. “I knew this young man, and I am friends with the family. This is another terrible tragedy for the community. God bless them.”

Armstrong said Rymer apparently lost control of his motorcycle.

“He hit a concrete median and was thrown a distance from the motorcycle and killed on impact,” Armstrong said. “No other vehicles were involved.”
