Alma Lee Cox Poole

MONTEREY — Services for Alma Lee Cox Poole, 70, of Monterey, were Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, at Monterey Church of Christ with the Rev. Jason Sparks and the Rev. Clyde Grammon officiating.      
Burial followed at Eva Church of God Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Poole was a member of Monterey Church of Christ and was point guard for the 1965 Vidalia State Championship team. She loved her church, tending her roses and reading, but mostly spending time with her grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William J. and Paralee Cox; three brothers, Tommy Joe Cox, Perry Cox and Jerrol Cox; two sisters, Mary Ellen Jenkins and Pamela Cox; one son, Michael Poole; one grandson, Mason Cade Bryant; one niece, Kalan Wadlington; and father-in-law, Edgar Poole.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Eddie Poole; on son, Patrick Poole and wife, Brandy, of Monterey; one daughter, Jan Bryant and husband, Don, of Monterey; five grandsons, Layton Poole, Tommy Poole, Trey Poole, Hunter Bryant and Haydon Bryant; three great-grandsons, Nathan Poole, Braiden Poole and Logan Poole; one sister, Jennifer Wadlington and husband, Devin, of Vidalia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Poole, Kevin Poole, Ron Poole, Rob Poole, Jarrod Pugh, Pete Ford, Cory Wadlington and Cole Wadlington.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Pugh, Kevin Wadlington, Greg Poole, Tim Poole, Ronald Poole, Chuck Poole and Randy Jenkins.
Donations may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital of to a charity of choice.
