Johnson ruled that Queen would stand trial beginning at 9 a.m., Nov. 15, represented by attorney Damon Stevenson from Jackson with Johnson presiding.

Queen faces charges of 10 counts of dogfighting and one count of receiving stolen property.

Mississippi law at the time of Queen’s arrest allowed for first-time offenders can be charged with felony dogfighting and could receive fines up to $5,000 or up to three years in prison. The laws have since been strengthened to contain tougher penalties.

Queen remains free on a bond of $55,000 as of Thursday.
